Bharati’, meaning speech, is also the title of Goddess Saraswati, the Goddess of the Arts and Knowledge. The College has as its motto the saying “na hi gyaanen sadrisham pavitramih vidyute” meaning nothing in this world is more sacred than knowledge. The College endeavors, constantly, to live by both, its name and its motto. We have been offering full time courses across different streams (B.A. (P), Commerce, English, Hindi, History, Journalism, Mathematics, Psychology, Political Science, Sanskrit, Sociology), part-time self-financing courses (French, German and Russian and DOEACC level computer courses) and short- term self-financing courses (Mass communication and Digital marketing).
Today, situated amid undulating gardens in an eco-friendly environment, with 23 classrooms and 46 tutorial rooms, a seminar and conference room, a studio theatre and 3 Computer Labs with over 120 computers, the college also boasts of basketball and volleyball courts, kho-kho and throw ball fields and a full-fledged cricket ground.
Our College like many others within the University of Delhi is a great melting pot, bringing together students from different parts of the city, the country and South Asian and African countries. Being an all-girls college, it allows girls of different dispositions to bloom and become articulate, confident and strong women, with abilities to compete and co-habit in today’s dynamic society and economic markets. The Placement Committee works towards promoting this ideology. Apart from recruitment assistance, the Committee periodically organizes grooming and personality development workshops, career counselling sessions, talks and seminars by corporates to provide an overview about the real world opportunities and challenges. With our association with Triedge Pvt. Ltd. for organizing an online internship fair, Bharati college hopes that students can apply online for companies of repute by registering themselves on one platform, thereby getting desirable internships. This endeavor will enhance the marketability of students of Bharati College.Dr. Mukti Sanyal (Officiating Principal)
